Unlike larger, overwhelming museums, the curated layout allows you to move seamlessly from early masters to brilliant Impressionist works in a relatively short time. Definitely buy your tickets online in advance to skip the lines.

Excelente opción. Comprando por la web del museo del Prado solo tenía acceso en el grupo de la tarde. Con esta herramienta pude entrar a las 10 horas sin problemas.

Beim Prado mussten wir unser digitales Ticket erst in ein gedrucktes umtauschen. Das war vorher nicht ersichtlich und wir mussten uns danach wieder in die Schlange einreihen. Das war nicht gut gemacht. Das galt auch für das Reina Sofia. Unproblematisch dagegen das Thyssen. Als wir reinkamen war der Eintritt für alle Besucher kostenlos. Von allen 3 Museen hat uns das Thyssen am besten gefallen. Es war nicht so überladen wie das Prado und es war hell und freundlich. Das Thyssen ist für unseren nächsten Madridbesuch ein Muss!

Espacios generosos para poder disfrutar las obras sin los amontonamientos típicos de los grandes museos. Nos hicieron hacer el recorrido en orden cronológico inverso (de contemporáneo a antiguo), algo tal vez raro. Pero nada, muy bueno todo!

The ticket purchase was easy and convenient online. We were a party of four and we all thought the galleries were beautifully designed and the traffic flow was excellently maintained. The extra seating in the galleries allowed opportunities for review and discussion but were placed to also provide relief for those needing to take a little rest. I've travelled to several museums in several countries and this has become one of my favorite. I will definitely visit again.

The museum is fantastic but I had trouble getting the tickets. I had to download an app to see them. However later i got a separate email with the tickets easily seen. This is cumbersome and could be avoided.

What to bring

Bring a valid photo ID matching the name on your booking if requested at the entrance.

Have your smartphone ticket or printed voucher ready for entry and ticket exchanges at participating museums.

Carry your earphones for an immersive audio guide experience.

What’s not allowed

Large bags, oversized luggage, food, and drinks are not allowed inside the museum for security reasons.

Flash photography, tripods, and filming equipment are not permitted inside the museum.

Accessibility

This experience is accessible by wheelchair.

Prams, wheelchairs, and electric scooters are available for use, free of charge.

For your convenience, guide dogs are welcome to join you.

Additional information

Children under 18 can enter for free.

Note: Temporary exhibitions have limited capacity. Entry is timed, with visitors admitted every 15 minutes.

Access to the permanent collection is free on Mondays from 12pm to 4pm, and on Saturdays from 9pm to 11pm.

Facilities: Baby feeding room, Wi-Fi, ATM, cloakroom, mobile charging stations, and cafes.

Audio guide available on the Second Canvas Thyssen app. Instructions to download will be shared with your ticket. Do bring your own headphones.
