Begin your journey at Manchester Cathedral, entering through the South or East doors, where friendly staff will welcome you and check your ticket. You'll then be guided into the nave of this Gothic landmark, where your multi-sensory experience begins. Take a moment to absorb the grandeur of the venue before being swept up in an unforgettable, immersive spectacle.

LUMINISCENCE Manchester

Internationally acclaimed and now making its UK debut, LUMINISCENCE transforms the historic interior of Manchester Cathedral into a living, glowing canvas. Surrounded by sound, storytelling, and sweeping visuals, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into another dimension.

Live performance by the Collectives Gospel Choir: Be moved by contemporary choral arrangements of some of Manchester’s most iconic songs, performed live by the celebrated Collectives Gospel Choir.

360° immersive projection mapping: Marvel as every corner of the cathedral, from floor to vaulted ceiling, is illuminated with dynamic visuals that echo and interact with the music and architecture around you.

Narration by Christopher Eccleston: Let the evocative voice of Manchester-born actor Christopher Eccleston guide your experience with specially commissioned narration that adds emotional depth and local resonance.

Original script by Tim Whitnall: Enjoy a compelling narrative crafted by BAFTA and Olivier Award-winning playwright Tim Whitnall, weaving Manchester’s history, spirit, and future into one cohesive journey.

Curated surround soundscape: Feel fully immersed as ambient and musical elements are delivered through a spatial audio system, creating a 360° sound experience that envelops you from all sides.

On-site bar service: Arrive early and enjoy a drink from the on-site bar, open 30 minutes before the show begins and available throughout the show, with a wide selection of refreshments available for purchase.

Historic, non-traditional venue: Experience a digital art show inside a centuries-old Gothic cathedral for an added layer of contrast, where modern creativity meets ancient craftsmanship.

What’s not allowed

Due to venue restrictions, your pets cannot tag along.

Food and outside beverages are not allowed at the venue.

This is a walk-through show. Seating is only available on request for those who require assistance.

Guests who require assistance for this experience are entitled to one free Carer/Companion ticket when attending the experience. A Carer/Companion ticket can be selected online when purchasing tickets only on Fever. The guest requiring support must hold a valid paid ticket, and each Carer/Companion ticket must be paired with at least one full-price admission.

For your convenience, your guide dogs are welcome at the venue.

Unfortunately, this experience could not be fully adapted for deaf and visually impaired people. No additional audio guides or transcripts are currently available here.

Booking online is recommended and guarantees entry as capacities are limited. However, tickets may also be purchased on-site on the day of the event, subject to availability.

Please arrive at the time stated on your ticket; late entry is not permitted.

There is a bar, and you will be able to purchase beverages throughout the show.

The main show lasts 45 minutes, but the bar will be open 30 minutes before the show.
