Der Besuch des Pena Palace und Parks sowie der Quinta da Regaleira war eines der Highlights unserer Portugal-Reise. Der Pena Palace beeindruckt schon von Weitem mit seinen bunten Farben und der außergewöhnlichen Architektur. Von oben hat man einen wunderschönen Blick über Sintra und die Umgebung. Der dazugehörige Park ist sehr groß, gepflegt und lädt zu entspannten Spaziergängen durch die Natur ein. Die Quinta da Regaleira hat uns besonders durch ihre geheimnisvolle Atmosphäre begeistert. Die unterirdischen Tunnel, versteckten Wege und der berühmte Initiationsbrunnen machen den Ort einzigartig. Überall gibt es interessante Details zu entdecken, sodass man sich fast wie in einem Märchen fühlt. Beide Sehenswürdigkeiten sind absolut sehenswert und bieten eine tolle Mischung aus Geschichte, Architektur und Natur. Wer Sintra besucht, sollte sich diese Orte auf keinen Fall entgehen lassen.

Visiting the Pena Castle and gardens and the Quinta do Regaleira was a highlight in our Lisbon trip. The forests and parks of Sintra with their great diversity of trees and plants offer great pleasure for lovers of nature. Combined with the historical input of the Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle, the delicous shops, restaurants and pastry shops downtown and the Romantic gardens of Quinta with their fountains, labyrinth, warwrfalls and caves offer a perfect one day getaway from Lisobon. The trafic in the town is very heavy with buses, tuka tuka, cars, cyclists and pedestrians all going around the narrow streets up and a parking spot is also not very easy to find. Having bought tickets in advance saved us time and having to wait in line.

Minha experiência foi incrível, através de toda orientação pelo headout, consegui me organizar e me deslocar da melhor maneira possível até o Parque Nacional da Pena. Assim que chegamos, foi tudo muito fácil e rapido porque já tinhamos os bilhetes. Os Palácios além de belos, me fizeram refletir muito sobre a origem da construção e modo de decoração com as limitações daquela época. O Audioguia nos auxiliou no entendimento e compreensão de cada detalhe, o que tornou a experiência ainda melhor. Estou muito satisfeito, retornarei com a memória rica em experiências e fotografias.

Quinta da Regaleira is a magical, mysterious wonderland that feels like walking straight into a fairy tale. The massive grounds are incredibly fun to explore, packed with lush greenery, stunning architecture, and hidden symbolism. The absolute highlight is the adventurous underground cave and tunnel network, which lets you wind through dark passages and pop out near hidden waterfalls. Descending the breathtaking spiral staircase of the famous Initiation Well is a surreal experience that makes this estate a must-visit highlight of Sintra.

Visitar Quinta da Regaleira fue una de las mejores experiencias de nuestro viaje. Cada sendero, jardín y construcción parece esconder una historia. El Pozo Iniciático es aún más impresionante en persona y el ambiente tiene un aire misterioso y mágico que invita a explorar sin prisas. Es un lugar cuidado, lleno de detalles y perfecto para quienes disfrutan de la historia, la arquitectura y la naturaleza. Sin duda, volvería y lo recomendaría a cualquiera que visite Sintra.

Le château des Maures sans aucun doute! J'y suis allée à l'ouverture à 9h30. Personne ou presque. Trajet long , abrupt et fatigant depuis Sintra mais récompensé par la vue de la citadelle impressionnante qui serpente et s'accroche dans un chaos de gros rochers , le panorama alentour et , du haut de la tour Royale, la découverte du Palais de la Pena noyé dans la brume. En revanche le Palais de Regaleira m'a déçue: La foule, le bruit...? Une curiosité très XIXe

Climbing the castle steps to various high gates with the flags fluttering on their top was an ecstatic experience. Excellent workout for the body climbing both up and down. Quinta de regaleira very easy to get tickets in Headout. The entrance was easy with the time in the ticket. The Quinta is a beautiful place very well kept and a lot of history about it.

What to expect

Moorish Castle

Built in the 8th century and soon taken over by the Christians after the fall of Lisbon in 1147, every aspect of the Moorish Castle speaks of its centuries-long history. From its most prominent feature, the castle walls, to the watchtower, the museum, and the interpretation centre, the Moorish Castle has a lot to offer.

Second Ring of Walls: Take in the second line of walls built around the castle by the Knights Templar after its capture by Afonso Henriques.

Silos: Crater-like pits that were used to store crops and harvest, you must explore how these essentials were stored at the castle for extended durations.

Church of São Pedro de Canaferrim: Explore this church built following the conquest of the Moors. and take a close look at its stone masonry and Gothic paintings.

Quinta da Regaleira

Blending multiple architectural styles, this estate is among the highlights of Sintra, with stunning interiors nestled amidst a garden that features fountains, grottoes, lakes, and benches.
