The Hungarian State Opera House
Opened in 1884, the Hungarian State Opera House is Hungary’s first and only purpose-built opera venue. Designed by acclaimed architect Miklós Ybl, it is one of Budapest’s most visited cultural landmarks and has hosted world premieres, celebrated composers, and legendary performers across generations.

Flash photography, tripods, and professional filming equipment are not allowed inside the Opera House.

The Opera House offers full wheelchair access, including barrier-free entry points, lifts to several levels (including the third floor), designated seating, and accessible restroom facilities.

As the main entrance has steps, you will enter via a side entrance, and it is recommended that you contact the venue ahead of time to confirm seating arrangements.

- Guided tours last around 60 minutes and depart daily at 1:30pm, 3pm, and 4:30pm, so please arrive on time for your chosen tour slot.
