Your full-day tour of Cappadocia will take you to Derinkuyu Underground City, the largest excavated site of its kind in Turkey. With its depth of 85 meters, this city could accommodate up to 20,000 people back in the day (along with their livestock and food stores!). Continue onwards to the Ihlara Valley for a 4-kilometer trek. Visit cave churches from the 7th to 11th centuries, most of which are home to frescoes in vivid colors.
Make a pitstop at Belisirma, a typical Anatolian village, to enjoy a delightful lunch and drop by some of the churches open to tourists. At Selime, see the rock-cut churches and one of the largest rock-cut monasteries in Cappadocia. In Goreme, enjoy the beauty of Cappadocia’s moon-like landscapes and the rock formations in many hues.
