Took this trip with my friend Anna and wow, the scenery is just INSANE. Like postcards everywhere you look. Our guide (Petra?) was super chill and told us a bunch of weird facts about Ljubljana—did you know there’s a dragon bridge?! Also, the cream cake by Lake Bled is a whole thing, don’t skip it. Weather was a lil chilly but we bundled up. Def recommend, especially if you like castles and random street musicians.

Solo traveler here! Joined a small group with 7 others, and immediately felt welcome. Our driver had playlists going the whole time (Euro 80s ftw). Ljubljana felt safe and quirky, and Lake Bled is as pretty as everyone says. I ended up sitting by the lake for an hour just people-watching. Pro tip: bring cash for souvenirs, not all shops take cards.

Went with my boyfriend, and both cities really surprised us. The walking tour in Ljubljana was nice but a bit fast for us slow walkers, lol. Bled Castle is perched up HIGH (bring sneakers). We got free time to just chill on the lake shore—loved it. The guide pointed us to this little bakery for Bled cream cake, which totally lived up to the hype.

Booking was easy, pickup was right on time. The van was a bit packed, but made friends with a couple from Brazil so it was cool. Ljubljana is super walkable, and the guide was full of stories. Bled was busy (Sunday, whoops), but the castle views make up for it. Would’ve liked a bit more time at the lake, but still worth it.

If you’re into castles, this is your tour. Bled Castle is such a vibe—old stone walls, windy up top, and the gift shop has these little honey pots that make cute souvenirs (my mom loved hers). Our guide, Luka, told us about this church bell legend which was kinda cool. Weather held up, no rain, so we lucked out.

What to bring

Bring your passport; there will be a passport control at the Slovenian border.

Wear comfortable walking shoes, as a moderate amount of walking with some steep parts is involved.

What’s not allowed

This tour is not recommended for those with walking disabilities.

Large luggage and oversized bags may not be accommodated in the vehicle.
