Beautiful Art gallery to spend time in. Head out were easy to buy tickets and gave you directions to the gallery make it easy to get there and straight into the gallery with your online tickets. I would recommend Headout to ensure your trip is full of all the things you want to do. It made our trip to Madrid an amazing one. Thanks

The three museums were absolutely outstanding worth so much more than the price of admission! The art walk pass enabled us to walk in without standing in line. This saved us hours of time and allowed us to enjoy the artwork without stress. Obtaining the tickets was very simple recommends without any reservations.

eveyone was helpful with directions for ticket, the museums were amazing. photos are prohibited only at prado, but souvenirs made up for it. you'll need more time for prado so plan ahead, personally sofia was amazing. Will go again as soon as possible💫

Getting started

Arrive at the main entrance of Nouvel Building at the museum to get your tickets validated. A brief security check later, you'll be able to enter the museum and begin your self-guided tour.

What to expect

Reina Sofia Museum

As Spain’s leading museum for modern and contemporary art, Reina Sofía houses nearly 25,000 works and is renowned for its focus on Spanish artists and pivotal 20th-century movements.

Features

Picasso’s Guernica: Encounter this monumental anti-war painting, a defining work of 20th-century art and a symbol of Spanish history.

Other iconic artworks: You'll find influential pieces works by Dalí, Ángeles Santos, and Joan Miró that shaped Surrealism, Modernism, and Cubism.

Access to the permanent and temporary collections: Access all the permanent and temporary collections at the museum at the Sabatini and Nouvel Buildings.

What to bring

Bring a valid photo ID to match the name on your booking if requested at the entrance.

Present your smartphone voucher or printed ticket at the entrance or designated ticket office, as required.

Carry your best earphones and a fully charged phone to make use of the audio guide.

What’s not allowed

Large bags, suitcases, and oversized luggage are not allowed inside the museum for security reasons.

Food and beverages are not permitted inside the exhibition spaces.

Pets are not allowed, except for registered assistance animals.

Flash photography and the use of selfie sticks or tripods are strictly prohibited.

Accessibility

The museum is wheelchair accessible, with ramps and elevators available throughout the building.

You can also loan wheelchairs at the information points at the museum's Sabatini and Nouvel Buildings.

You're free to bring a service animal along, provided you carry all relevant official documentation for verification.

The museum has adapted restrooms across both buildings.

You'll also find accessible parking for adapted vehicles in the museum's loading bay.

Individuals with more than 33% disability enjoy free access to Prado and Thyssen for themselves and one person accompanying them. They must carry an official card or documentation to avail of this benefit.

Additional information

You will access the digital audio guide via an app, so make sure your phone is fully charged.

Minors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The museum remains closed on Tuesdays.

Free access to the museum is available for individual visitors during the last two hours on all days. However, keep in mind that it can get very crowded during this period.

Due to architectural improvements, the museum's library will remain open between 5pm and 9pm until November 21.

Access to certain parts of the museum may be restricted or closed due to improvements or for assembling new collections.
