Dunedin Specials

The crew were fabulous. We saw a variety of wildlife along the way. Penguins, seals, sea lions and many birds. The walk for the kiwis was great - but no kiwis to be seen. We did hear them and see some footprints on the beach. The owls were lovely to see and hear them singing to each other. Thank you to the crew for their hard work.

Leah our tour guide was awesome. Locals were friendly and informative. Love the place thinking of buying a section and building a rental there it was so capitating.

The trip over was fast & easy. Coming back, we were on hold due to gale-force winds; however, in the last hour, the trip went ahead. The skipper warned us it would be a little rough & bumpy (understatement at times). He managed the big waves & tide expertly, making the trip as smooth as he could. For someone who suffers from motion sickness, I had no problems (with a little help from Travacalm!). It was even a little exciting watching the waves wash over us!

Great staff on a pretty rough crossing, the skipper kept us informed as we waitied for a large ship to pass. Had a great crossing to and from the island.

During the ferry trip from Bluff to Stewart Island the sea was really calm, so we had a very pleasant trip, seeing how the island approached and looking forward to a nice stay there. The sea was mich wilder during the trip back, but the captain stayed so calm, that I had complete confidence in him. A very beautiful sight were the birds around the boat: White cap albatross and many kinds of seagulls, a pleasure for any birdwatcher and nature lover

Good driver! It was windy and he could manage very well. I got sea sick and the team helped me very well. On the way back to Bluff, no problem.
