Getting started

Meet your guide at Kualoa Ranch’s Visitor Center, where you’ll receive a safety helmet and your e-mountain bike, adjusted for your height. After a safety briefing and a short practice ride, your guide will assess your bike handling skills before the tour begins.

E-bike tour of Kualoa and Ka‘a‘awa valleys

These valleys on Oahu’s windward coast are known for their natural beauty and cinematic history, serving as filming locations for major movies and TV shows. The area features lush jungle, ridges, and panoramic views of the Koʻolau mountain range.

Features

Novice e-bike routes: Choose gentler slopes and valleys covering up to 8 miles approximately in distance, for a more beginner-friendly experience on your e-bike tour.

Advanced e-bike routes: Ride approximately 16 miles of challenging trails, including steep climbs, dirt paths, and single-track sections—ideal for experienced riders seeking a technical adventure.

Movie locations: Stop at iconic filming sites from blockbuster films, with your guide sharing behind-the-scenes stories and local insights.

Scenic photo stops: Enjoy multiple breaks for photos and interpretive commentary, capturing the valleys’ unique landscapes and geological features.

Professional guidance: Your expert guide ensures safety and shares the area’s history, from ancient Hawaiian legends to modern ranch life.

What to bring

Carry a valid photo ID in case it’s required during check-in.

Wear closed-toe, closed-heel footwear; sandals or backless shoes are not permitted.

Bring water, sunscreen, and clothing suitable for outdoor conditions.

Pack a change of clothes, as the tour runs rain or shine and conditions may be wet, muddy, or dusty.

What’s not allowed

Open-toed footwear, sandals, or backless shoes are not permitted.

Riding with more than one person on a bike is not allowed; one rider per bike only.

Guests who are pregnant or have back, neck, or other medical conditions are not permitted to participate.

Pets are not allowed on this experience.

Accessibility

This experience is not wheelchair accessible.

All participants must meet the required physical criteria:

Height: 4’9”–6’5” (144–195 cm)

Weight: 85–250 lbs (38–113 kg)

Age: Minimum age of 10 years

Guests aged 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Additional information

All riders must successfully complete a pre-ride safety assessment that covers braking, climbing, descending, cornering, steering, and overall control.

Participants who are unable to demonstrate safe and competent bike handling during the assessment will not be permitted to join the tour.

Helmets are provided and must be worn at all times throughout the experience.

Each tour begins with a mandatory safety briefing and training session before departure.
