Step into Jan Van Eyck’s painting Virgin and Child with Canon van der Paele as you follow the epic story of love it inspired – that of Anna and Jacob. With an audio guide narrating an epic love story in 10 languages, journey into this past as you explore the Historium. Plunge into the history of Bruges as you explore 7 intrinsically designed rooms, each depicting unique aspects of life and culture from the medieval past.
Gather tidbits of information in every room that'll make you say, 'Wow, Bruges was and is pretty cool!' Peek into Jan van Eyck's studio to see how he created his masterpiece Virgin and Child with Canon van der Paele. Visit Huis ter Beurze, once home to the Van der Beurse family and the world's first stock exchange. Explore the quays that helped the Dutch trade prosper, the toll house which taxed all goods entering or leaving Bruges, and more rooms.
The Historium is cooler when you fly
