Arabella Steinbacher in Brahms' Violin Concerto

Musician’s Bio: Arabella Steinbacher
A German violinist, Steinbacher started her violin classes aged 3. By age 9 she was enrolled at the Munich College of Music and mentored by Ana Chumachenco. Currently, she plays the Booth Stradivarius and records extensively for Pentatone and Orfeo. Her career has seen her win the Joseph-Joachim-Violinwettbewerbes Hannover in 2000, the Förderpreis des Freistaates Bayern and "Anne-Sophie Mutter's circle of friends" Scholarship in 2001.
The concert is a part of the Robeco Summer Nights Experience and will feature the virtuoso- Arabella Steinbacher. The concert will feature three main pieces from the classical music repertoire.
Estrella de Soria by Berwald
Estrella de Soria was scored in 1883 by Franz Berwald. Written as a Romantic piece, the work features three movements. The overture is an especially technical part within the main play and is known for its remarkable composition
Violin Concerto by Brahms
Composed in 1878 for his friend Joseph Joachim, this is Johannes Brahms only violin concerto. Scored for a solo violin and a classic orchestra, the piece has three movements. The concerto is very technical, involving multiple stopping techniques, broken chords, and rapid scale passages.
Unvollendete by Schubert
Franz Schubert’s Symphony No.8 is commonly called the ‘Unfinished Symphony’. Written in 1822, the score has only two movements. Written as a Romantic piece, the work breaks from classical scores by adding new elements into it.
