The story is set inside a typical British pub, with shabby decor and the unmistakable smell of nicotine. Pop songs can be heard from the jukebox, and football is running on the television. Eight men are sitting around, with pints of beer in their hands, discussing everything from politics to sport. The tension in the air, however, is palpable. Insecurity and paranoia prevail in the room, and each individual knows that weakness will be exploited.

Director and choreographer of Enter Achilles, Lloyd Newson is the founder of the DV8 Physical Theatre. Newson’s work combines his unique style of movement with verbatim text, through which he highlights socio-political issues clearly and unpretentiously. He has won an astonishing 55 international and national awards under DV8’s banner, including an International Emmy for Performing Arts, a Rose d’Or, and an OBE to name a few. Ian MacNeil, a Drama Desk, two Olivier, and Tony Award-winner is in charge of the set design, ensuring an immersive experience for the audience.
