The Story
As one of the most fierce lawyers in the United States, John Paris has rarely seen failure. When he finds out that Karen Lukoff is one of the most promising rising stars at the DA’s Office, he decides to hire her to assist him in sorting out a high-profile case. It is not long before Paris discovers that Karen is not just any gifted attorney – she rivals his own prowess in the field. Their victory in the case is quickly followed by a pompous celebration filled with alcohol. Left with each other in the early hours of the morning, Paris asks for a kiss and gets it. When he asks Karen for more than just that, she refuses. As a consequence of the alcohol, Paris remembers nothing that happened immediately after.
In the second act, Karen files rape charges against John Paris. Is Paris truly guilty of rape? Will he escape from the hearing unscathed? Find out in this chilling sample of the heinous crimes that lawyers deal with on a daily basis.
