Nara is usually overshadowed by its more famous neighbors, Osaka and Kyoto. Yet, it makes for a worthwhile trip to this city where sacred deer still roam along the narrow streets. In this tour, you will start off by visiting one of Japan's most famous and historically significant temples, the Todaiji Temple. Walk inside the temple, past the imposing Nandai-mon gate and enter the awe-inspiring main hall. Here you will find one of Japan's largest bronze statues of the Buddha, flanked by two Bodhisattvas.

From here, make your way to Nara Park, where over 1,000 deer roam freely. You can even feed them - deer crackers are sold aplenty here! The last stop of your tour is the Kofukuji Temple. The temple features several buildings of great historic value, including a five-storied pagoda that is said to be Japan's second tallest wooden pagoda!
