why you shouldn’t miss this
Nearing a length of around 430 km, the Vltava spans more than a third of of the Czech Republic and around half of the Bohemian area. This amazing river flows under 18 bridges not excluding the well known Charles Bridge, which is also a part of the attractions to be sighted on this magical cruise. The bridge, one of the most popular tourist sites to check out in all of Czech Republic, is renowned for it rich architectural history, making it a brilliant sight to behold, especially from aboard a boat! Before you wine and dine on your pleasant cruise down the river, you will get to tour historic parts of the city.
Right from the early days, in the 9th century, Old Town, also called Staré Město, appeared from the expansive marketplace along the bank of the Vltava river. Ancient records say that the city had more than thirteen gates, and a large moat, ensuring it had excellent defenses. The New Town also called Nové Město in Czech, is the largest and also the youngest of the several independent towns that make up the historic nexus of modern-day Prague. Founded by Charles IV in 1348, it was immediately outside the walls, south-east of the Old Town. One of the most populated cities in Europe at that time, it covered an area that was almost three times the area covered by the Old Town. It is home to several baroque and gothic churches that are a must-visit. Known as Josefov in Prague, the Jewish Quarter is situated in between the Vltava river and the Old Town Square. It has a torrid history dating back to the 13th century when the Jews were forced to flee their homes and settle in a separate area meant exclusively for them. Additionally, several buildings were torn down, and the roads were remodeled.
This tour is as educational as it is beautiful. It showcases both the historical significance of the monuments and the present purpose of the buildings in modern-day Prague.
There is always something enchanting about a cruise. You get to spend some quality time with your family or partner, taste top-notch food, and beverage and feel an exalted state of living. This cruise definitely lives up to every expectation. The soft, periodic churning of the Vltava as the boat drifts ahead, and the mild rocking of the boat in the water has a very pleasant, calming effect on the soul, transporting you to a whole new dimension of tranquility.
Unlike many other tours, this cruise is holistic, giving you a true feel of what Prague is known for. With the well-stocked on-board bar and restaurant that offers food and drink of the highest caliber, as well as a live band that always puts up a great show, this will surely be a meal to remember!
