Why Watch Yamato: Passion
The Japanese drumming troupe, Yamato, make their return to London, this time to take the West End stage with their marvellous performance. The Odaiko drums, some of which were made more than 400 years ago, make incredible heart-thumping beats and explosive sounds. Yamato recently marked their 25th anniversary, and have performed in 54 countries to more than 8 millions fans. The Yamato drummers are completely dedicated to their art and train extremely hard to raise the bar each time they perform.
Yamato aims to keep the centuries-old tradition alive and hope to show people across the world this intense art-form. The Yamato believe that the sound of their drums is the source of all energy that flows in the human body. By performing, they hope to envelop the audience with this energy of life and ensure that every person feels this invisible force.
You will feel your spirit get lifted as you witness the infectious energy and joy of the drummers as they perform their art. True to its name, the drums bring out the pulse of life among the people who witness the show, and you are guaranteed to want to join in.
Passion is the most ambitious venture of Yamato, and you will see that the drummers attempt to reach the absolute limit of their abilities, both physically and musically. The thunderous beats and rhythm are produced from an instrument that weighs more than half a tonne. They show astonishing strength, as they use their entire bodies to play the majestic instrument. The intense passion and energy with which the drummers perform forms the crux of the show.
As you are surrounded by the sound of the Odaiko drums, you will feel the basic elements of life, soul, spirit, and psyche resonate within yourself. At the end of the 2-hour performance, there is no doubt that your heart rate will continue to be elevated, owing to the spirited performance!
