Watch this engaging story of self-discovery and revelation at the Trafalgar Studios 2 this March. Follow Rory on her journey to the North Pole in memory of her late father, a man who adored the Arctic.

Why Watch A Hundred Words for Snow

Warm is perhaps the aptest way to describe A Hundred Words for Snow. The beloved play by Tatty Hennessy is directed by the talented Lucy Jane Atkinson. It also stars the incredibly talented Gemma Barnet as the teenage explorer Rory, who does absolute justice to the role. The play is full of humor and emotional moments that are sure to keep your eyes glued to the stage throughout the performance. The critically-acclaimed play has had successful runs at the Arcola Theatre and The Vaults, and will now feature at London’s Trafalgar Studios this spring.

The Story

A savory mix of deep and subtle emotions as well as light-hearted humour, A Hundred Words for Snow is the story of Rory, a teenage girl who is finding it hard to deal with the passing of her father, who was a geography teacher and longed to travel to the Arctic. In an attempt to honour his memory, Rory decides to set out on an adventurous journey to the Arctic with her father’s ashes. A Hundred Words for Snow explores birth and death, coming of age, and self-discovery. An extremely thought-provoking play, it touches upon the topics of teenage grief and the struggles of a young adult in the face of great loss. This play is a beautiful study of humanity and is filled with humorous moments that blend seamlessly with the otherwise serious theme of the story.
