Why Watch Murder for Two
Murder For Two is a beautifully crafted madcap murder mystery with hilarious and exciting plot twists. All thirteen characters featured in the performance are played by just two actors. The show blends incredible music with the mayhem of the murder to create a truly refreshing and unforgettable tribute to the captivating genre.
The show ran successfully off-Broadway and managed to receive critical acclaim for its brilliant performances last year. It is directed and produced by the legendary duo Luke Sheppard and Paul Taylor-Mills, the same team that crafted the Olivier Award-winning In the Heights.
When Officer Marcus Moscowicz, an aspiring detective and small-town policeman, is called upon to investigate the death of the iconic American novelist Arthur Whitney, he is delighted by the opportunity. Shots rang out on the night of the author’s surprise birthday party, and he is found dead shortly after. Assisted by his silent partner, Lou, Marcus sets out to prove his sleuthing prowess to the town. The case, however, takes unexpected turns and it becomes incredibly difficult for Marcus to deduce the killer’s identity. Was it Arthur Whitney’s wife Dahlia who wanted all his wealth? The friendly psychiatrist Dr. Griff, and the prima ballerina Barrette Lewis seem equally worthy of suspicion. Will Marcus solve the case before the real detectives arrive in town? Find out in this downright hilarious tribute to the crime genre!
