I have done several tours now with Merrily Kerr, each one different and each one enormously informative. Merrily knows about places and things in NY that are generally off my radar, so spending an afternoon with her opens my mind to a NY art/architecture scene I would not otherwise understand.
Today was my third time with Merrily on a gallery tour. Once again she picks artists that have interesting work and provides background and perspective to what we are seeing. The shows are always something different, and while not always something I like, they are all provocative and something I would not know to to see on my own. I will definitely be back again.
As a first time visitor to New York having someone to guide me through the gallery scene was very important. The tour went very smoothly, we saw an interesting variety of high quality art and the timing at each stop was about right.
