Why You Shouldn’t Miss This
The home to Manchester United, the most successful football club in England, Old Trafford has rightly been named the The Theatre of Dreams. It has a seating capacity of 74,994 after undergoing an expansion in the 1990s and 2000s. It has hosted football matches at the 2012 Olympics as well as the final of the Rugby League World Cups. The seating is based on Manchester United's primary colors and is in red and white. The West Stand or Stretford End is the stadium's most famous stand, which is where the most ardent supporters of Manchester United usually stand. The mosaic of seats spells out the club's colloquial name.
The Old Trafford Museum is one of the most famous football museums in the world and attracts nearly 300,000 visitors every year. United is one of the most valuable clubs in the world and was the first English team to win the Treble, the League title, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League in the same year.
The Old Trafford Museum provides an in-depth experience that cannot be missed. You will see a wonderful confluence of historical and interactive exhibits, bringing you closer to Manchester United than ever before. Arrive about 90 minutes before your stadium tour begins to allow enough time to thoroughly explore this spectacular museum. You can take some photographs with the many trophies United has collected over the years and learn about the lesser-known individuals who helped build the club up from its roots. The 1998-1999 season, which resulted in a treble of trophies, including the Premier League Title, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League is well-documented, and the three cups can be seen here as well.
The stadium tour will take you through the players' dressing rooms, where you can take the opportunity to sit in the seats of some of your favorite players. You will also get a chance to visit the player's dugout and the pitch and you can imagine the atmosphere when over 70,000 fans are chanting the club’s anthem as the players take the field.
Once you have finished the stadium tour, you are entitled to a certificate, which you can keep as a souvenir of this unforgettable visit. You can collect this certificate at the customer service desk in the Megastore.
