Eugenius! is a musical about how one young boy’s dreams to create a famous comic character come true with hilarious consequences. With catchy songs that are sure to make you sing along, Eugenius! at The Other Palace will leave you with a big smile on your face.
Why Watch Eugenius!
Eugenius! is directed by Ian Talbot, a veteran director with several years of experience in theatre, while the songs have been written by A1 band member Ben Adams. With excellent direction and foot-tapping tunes at the helm, Eugenius!'s comic and often cheesy perspectives only add to the musical's appeal. The jokes and plot twists hit you one after another, leaving you in splits. Eugenius! has received critical acclaim from theatre-goers, and we recommend this show as one that you will remember for years to come.
The story follows Eugene, a comic book lover who is considered a “geek” and bullied at his school. Eugene has but one dream – to make his comic book character, the “Tough Man”, popular. Eugene gets a chance to shine in the spotlight when he wins a contest and is invited to Hollywood to create a movie based on his comic. His glory is short-lived, however, since this is when things start to take a turn for the worse, and the line between reality and imagination begin to blur. Will Eugene manage to stay grounded in reality and achieve his dreams at the same time?

“Silly but amiable, Eugenius! is bursting with 80s pop culture references and boasts infectiously poppy pastiche songs.”
“The superhero musical, driven by a catchy Eighties-inspired score, which includes Mark Hamill of Star Wars fame amusingly voicing a robot, will plant a smile of your face”
