Getting the Band Back Together
Savour the unique and irresistible musical Gettin’ the Band Back Together that is set to feature at the Belasco Theatre starting 19th July. Follow the story of Mitch Papadopolous, a middle-aged businessman who is forced to revisit his dream of being the next Bruce Springsteen!
Why Watch Gettin’ the Band Back Together
Gettin’ the Band Together was never lacking when it came to top-notch musical geniuses like Mark Allen and writers like Ken Davenport, a Tony Award-winning producer and blogger, and the performance group Grundleshotz, in its development stage. The show mixes a wide range of themes to create a comical spectacle that is truly worth the watch. The story of Mitch Papadopolous and his lost passion brings the classic theme of living your dreams back to life in its own goofy fashion. Before long, you will find yourself immersed in the world of Mitch and his ridiculous problems. From being confronted by his arch nemesis from school who threatens to evict Mitch from his house to the grand Battle of the Bands that concludes the tale of the characterful protagonist, this is a story that takes its audience on an emotional rollercoaster ride that is frequently punctuated by bizarre, yet undeniably funny, dialogue and acting.
On his 40th birthday, Mitch Papadopolous, the man who abandoned his childhood passion of becoming a musician to take up a stable job, is handed the pink slip by his boss. Seeing no other way out, Mitch is forced to leave his high-rise apartment and move in with his mother in Sayreville, New Jersey. Following this, Mitch’s woes only get progressively worse, such as his childhood nemesis deciding to foreclose on their small house. Not one to give up easily, Mitch picks up his dusty guitar and goes on a mission to reunite his old gang of motley musicians - a math teacher, a 16-year-old Jewish rapper and an Irish cop. Will Mitch win the Battle of Bands and save his beloved house? Will he get another chance to reunite with his high school sweetheart?
