Your Experience

Duomo di Milano

The Milan Cathedral is notorious for its long waiting lines, and the first thing you’ll do is skip these lines. Enter the massive complex which is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan and discover the architectural magnificence of this structure that took nearly six centuries to complete. 108 meter high, studded with gothic gravitas and capable of holding 40,000 people, the intricately crafted church gives you plenty of details to pore over.

The highlight of this ticket is the place which offers the best views of Milan, the rooftops of Milan Cathedral. From here, you can see the gorgeous cityscape of Milan lying between you and the horizon. Take in the amazing architecture as you make your way to one of the ornate stone balustrades and gaze in awe at the wonder that is Milan. The crowning jewel of the terrace, is the Madonnina, a 14-foot-high golden statue of Mary which also happens to be the tallest point of the building which can be spotted from miles away. You can also spot Catholic saints standing atop the 135 marble spires that dot the perimeter along with other religious figures being nestled among the buttresses and pillars. Overall, the terrace has nearly 2,000 statues perched on it.

Be sure to not miss out on the Museo del Duomo, a museum that reveals the history behind this enormous construction project and its many secrets. The theme of this museum is the Duomo itself and it features a massive collection of nearly 200 pieces including statues, tapestries, paintings, terracotta and wooden models and stained-glass windows.

The Last Supper

After skipping the line at the entrance, proceed further into the Santa Maria delle Grazie and come face-to-face with one of the most celebrated paintings by one of the most celebrated artists; The Last Supper by Leonardo Da Vinci. Study the majestic depiction of the final meal of Jesus Christ and his Apostles, and watch the figures speak to you in this visual representation of the iconic biblical moment.

The painting provides a window into the artwork of the past, and though anyone can admire the beauty of the fresco, it can be only be deeply appreciated learning the fascinating secrets about why Leonardo chose this location for the painting, how this differs from a traditional fresco and what happened to the figure’s eyes as you look at the immaculate structural composition and attention to detail. Since authorities have restricted visits to 15 minutes, make the most of your time with the Last Supper and let your guide tell you everything you’ll need to know about the masterpiece.

The painting draws quite the crowd which means the lines are not just a possibility, but a promise. More often than not, those waiting in line don't get to see the masterpiece until several hours later, by which time the beauty of it doesn't quite strike you. Buying tickets online is most definitely a necessity. With Headout, not only is it the most simple and hassle free way of seeing the Last Supper, since you get to skip the line and save yourself hours of waiting, but it is also the most cost effective and memorable as you will be entering with a small group and get to admire Leonardo's work in peace and quiet.

The Duomo is no doubt beautiful, this ticket gave us access to all the parts and that was worth the money.

This is the best packaged combo, additionally I took the elevator variant due to my bad knees. The skip the line at Last Supper was god's grace! I couldn't have waited in line for so long.
