The Boys In The Band

A comic medley of emotions, The Boys in the Band is a theatrical masterpiece produced by Ryan Murphy and David Stone. Tony Award winner Joe Mantello directs a talented cast featuring Jim Parsons, Zachery Quinto, Andrew Rannells and Matt Bomer. Originally, the play planned to run as a small, off-broadway performance with a handful of shows, however, that changed as the play became an overnight sensation by earning multiple acclaims.

Why Watch The Boys in the Band

The groundbreaking, comic drama features a talented star cast supported by the Tony Award winning director Joe Mantello. The show not only earned a name in Broadway, but also went on to a bigger run in London. It was later also adapted into a film by William Friedkin in the year 1970. It holds a benchmark of over a 1,000 performances around the world.

The Story

The Boys in the Band features a group of gay men gathered in a New York City apartment for a close friend’s birthday party. Soon as the music and drinks get the best of them, the evening reveals a shade of fault beneath their friendship and the self-inflicted heartaches. Deemed as a ‘true theatrical game changer’, the play has put forth a revolution by putting gay men’s live into the spotlight, in a world who is still not ready to accept them.
