Your Experience

The word 'Venice' brings to mind a city of sophisticated elegance set in a myriad of visual sensations. In simple words, meandering canals, splendid architecture and crafty boats. However, this city is much more than just these. A lesser-known facet of the city is its deeply rooted tradition of handicrafts. Those of you looking to explore Venice to its brim, this one's a tour you should strongly consider.

On this tour, you will discover the pearls of Venetian crafts and visit ancient stores that have been selling handmade crafts for centuries together. You will get a chance to see the master artisan and witness a live demonstration of his art. Set out to feel soft velvets and brocades, touch marbelized paper, ancient leather-bound books, witness the art of glass and lace, embrace the famous Venetian carnival masks, the intricate gold and silver jewellery and many other handmade wonders.

Depending on the activities you choose to attend, your tour would pan out along these lines. You could start your tour with the most famous Venetian art, the paper-mâché carnival mask, admire the age-old art and pick up a souvenir from the atelier. Next, walk into a laboratory known for its porcelain dolls and Venetian costumes. You will leave here with a gallery overflowing with pictures because this splash of colours is sure to tempt you. After the dolls and masks, you can then visit the glass blowing factory bang in the heart of the city where you will learn about the origins of glassblowing and assist in a demonstration with a master artisan. After witnessing this magical art, you can head into a shop known for fabricating brocades, damasks, velvet, and silks, which are known to adorn some of the most beautiful houses in the world. Here, you can also lay your eyes on the Burano Lace Art, a famous Venetian tradition and a favourite amongst the fashionable French. Lastly, you can unveil the creative secrets of glass beads, lampwork pearls, and intricate silver and gold jewellery and end your tour at St Mark's Square.

Walk away from these artsy streets of Venice with a souvenir in your hand and a bag full of memories.
