About The Show
Set in Alabama in 1900, ‘Little Foxes’ is the story of the fiercely competitive Regina Giddens and her ruthless clan. This masterful and intelligent drama follows Giddens and her sister-in-law Birdie, as they often clash in a bid to strike the deal of their lives, and remain on top within the prevailing social constraints.
Far from a sentimental and emotional look at the era bygone, Little Foxes is an absorbing production with themes that resonate across time and cultures. Directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan and starring three-time Tony Award nominee Laura Linney and Tony winner Cynthia Nixon(alternating between the roles of Regina and Birdie), this revival is a must-watch.
Critic’s Reviews
Critic’s Reviews
- “Daniel Sullivan directs Hellman’s Alabama tale with a crisp vigour that smooths over its melodramatic bumps… This is such a richly satisfying revival, I’m going back for seconds.”
--David Cote, Time Out New York
- “A nimble, exhilarating revival… In Regina, Hellman created one of the stage’s great antiheroines and a glide bomb of a role. Now, Daniel Sullivan’s production, two actresses get to detonate it… You should see it twice.”
--Alexis Soloski, The New York Times
- “Powerful and chilling… The story is filled with delicious twists and turns up until the end. But the fun in this production is watching these two extraordinary and captivating actresses at play, no matter which role she’s tackling…”
--Robert Kahn, WNBC
