Know Your Tour
The St. Paul Alla Regola Church is a rare archaeological surprise. Skip long queues and walk into the depths of this famous church to discover much about the Imperial Age that once defined Rome.
Brought to light during the restoration of a seventeenth-century municipal building, the different structures include four floors, two above the ground and two below the current level. This complex includes rooms on two floors covered with a barrel vault placed on the narrow service roads parallel to the course of the river and compartments that were a part of a large warehouse.
Having undergone multiple restorations through the ages, some of the areas have beautiful black and white mosaic floors with geometric patterns. As you move further underground at this complex, you will move further back in time to experience it in all its magnificence. A treat for every history lover!
