Why Watch An American in Paris
Inspired by the Oscar-winning film of the same name, An American in Paris premiered on West End in March of 2017. A beautiful production with poetic storytelling, the musical explores the longing for new beginnings amidst the devastating aftermath of war. With stunning choreography and brilliant set designs, watch as the original Broadway star Leanne Cope re-creates her award winning performance alongside West End star Ashley Day.
An American in Paris follows the story of Jerry Mulligan, an American GI who decides to stay back in Paris at the end of World War II. As he pursues his dream to make it as a painter in the city, an encounter with a bashful beauty, Lise Bouvier, leaves him smitten. Join the two as they explore love, life, friendship and what it’s like to chase your dream in one of the world’s most romantic cities.
