A Bronx Tale

4.6

Travel back to the streets of the Bronx circa 1960 in this endearing musical based on the real life story of Chazz Palminteri. A Bronx Tale The New Musical features superb direction by two-time Academy Award winner Robert De Niro and four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks, and an excellent score by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater. With evocative performances and catchy music, A Bronx Tale brilliantly explores life, love, loyalty, respect and the bonds between family.

Why Watch A Bronx Tale

A Bronx Tale is a compelling adaptation of the one-man show and 1993 movie of the same name. It premiered on Broadway in December of 2016. The stylish musical takes audience members back to the era of mobsters and mafia with a rousing score accompanied by emotionally charged characters who struggle to find balance in their relationships. Despite the musical’s rugged theme, rife with violence and crime, the production strikes a sentimental chord. In the glorious tradition of mafia stories, this is one musical that you do not want to miss!

The Story

A classic story of conflicting ideals, A Bronx tale follows the journey of Calogero, a young boy caught in the middle of his desire to become a part of the criminal world despite his father’s wishes for him to live an honest life. When Calogero is taken under the wing of Sonny, the local mob boss, the temptations lure him even deeper. The story gets more complicated when Calogero falls for his classmate. Amidst the prevailing tensions of social and economic turbulence, Calogero must find himself and choose between the two worlds he is caught in between.

We were seated in the far right of the orchestra section. While the view was alright for most of the show, there were a couple of obstructions in some parts. But the hand delivered tickets were a great gesture, we loved the show.
