Why You Shouldn't Miss This
No visit to Rome is complete without a visit to Vatican City. The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel boast of the finest artwork ever to be made. Made up of 54 galleries, the Vatican Museums house one of the largest, and also the most important, collections of Renaissance art in the world. Built in the 15th century, the Sistine Chapel's walls and ceilings are covered by some of the most astounding frescoes ever produced.
The 54th gallery of the Vatican Museums is the famed Sistine Chapel. Completed around 1483 the Sistine Chapel is arguably the most famous chapel in the world due to the artwork located within. View many of the most famous frescoes in the world, including the famous ceiling and The Final Judgement painted by Michelangelo. Not only does the Sistine Chapel hold some of the world's most precious works of art, it is still used for religious purposes such as the Papal Conclave - the process through which a new Pope is chosen.

Loved the Sistine Chapel! Insane feeling. It is mostly a self-guided tour. Provided with audio guides if you like but freedom to walk around. Liked it.
It was a good experience. But I really disliked my tour guide. He was rude and didn’t seem very interested in his work (which is honestly no one else’s fault). We basically rushed down the halls of the Sistine Chapel trying to keep up with the man who was speeding away. Don’t know why we even bothered considering he didn’t even give a briefing to us. In addition to this, the crowd was massive so a few members got lost in the middle and he didn’t even bother to care. NOT what is expected of the service. The place is gorgeous though, all museums had gripping art work. Oh, and word of advice to all the ladies: DRESS APPROPRIATELY. Shorts/short skirts/sleeveless/off shoulder tops not permitted
It’s hard to believe that it is man-made. So very beautiful. Didn’t want to leave.
