Travel back to the biblical times with a visit to this popular Biblical Museum in Amsterdam. Since the 70s, the Cromhouthuizen which is made of two stately building by the canals has been home to the Biblical Museum. Before you step in, take in the architectural splendour of the Cromhouthuizen itself. It was built in 1662 and was designed by renowned architect Philips Vingboons. When you step inside, you can discover artefacts from ancient Egypt and also models of temples from the reign of Solomon and King Herod. You can also browse through religious artefacts from the Judeo-Christian traditions. The main attraction at the museum is a 19th-century tabernacle that was modelled after the famed Ark of the Covenant. Browse through relics like clay tablets and papyrus that paint a picture about the development of the Bible. A must for history lovers!
