Montmartre Impressionism Walking Tour

Your experience will begin at the designated meeting point where you will tour guide. The meeting point is situated on the street level just outside the Lamarck Caulaincourt Métro station (line 12) exit/sortie 1. On the 2-hour walking tour of Montmartre, your guide will not only take you to the famous places in the district but also help you learn more about the Impressionist movement. Some of the famous attractions that this tour will take you to are the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Moulin Rouge, Van Gogh's House and The Famous Windmills. Once the Montmartre tour is over, you will head to the Orsay Museum.

Orsay Museum

Your tickets will help you skip the long lines at the museum. Once inside, you are free to explore the museum as you like. The exhibitions are arranged in a chronological manner, with early 19th century sculptures and classical paintings on the ground floor, leading up to the Impressionist paintings on the second and top floor. Most of the highlights of the Orsay Museum are on the top floor. The top floor also has an outdoor terrace for you to catch a break and take in stunning sights of Paris.

Know Before You Go

Timings:
The 2-hour tour of Montmartre takes place every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.. On the other hand, you can visit the Orsay Museum anytime you like. The Orsay Museum is open every day, except on Monday and holidays such as Christmas Day and International Workers Day (May 1). On Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday; the museum is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. On Thursday, the museum is open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:45 p.m.

Getting There:
The tour begins at a meeting point right outside the Lamarck Caulaincourt metro station. Take Line 12 of the metro and get down at this station. The tour ends at Abbesses metro station on Line 12. If you would like to visit the Orsay museum immediately following your tour you can take this line to Solferino, which is the closest station to the museum. This journey takes 15 minutes.
