I went there with my husband as I gave him a certificate for this place for his birthday. We heard about it on Turbo a French automobile show and ever since, he dreamt about coming. Though I wasn't thrilled about going, I had to because I did not want him to live this dream on his own. So I packed my kobo, iPad, etc to make sure I would not be bored. Well all of this stayed in my bag and the 3.5 hours we spent there flew by as I was watching all the cars racing with fascination. I'm not into cars, but when you're right there, steps away from these super powerful cars, you just need to watch. The operation is very well run: you're checked in, then you go into a class room for some ground rules, then you go on a ride around the track with a professional and then you get to drive your car. All the guys are super professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The facility is modern and clean. While you're waiting, you're allowed to walk around the supercars, sit inside and take pictures, how awesome is that?! My husband was never interested in renting one of these cars to drive on the regular roads as you can't speed and experience their full potential. This place was perfect for him as they let you go as fast as you want as long as you follow their rules. Everything is done to enjoy the cars to their fullest. He tried the Nissan GTR, the Lambo Superleggera and the Porsche GT, he loved them all! The price might seem steep to some, but I really think it's fair for the quality of vehicles and service you get. I think we paid about CAD1,000 (USD700) for the package. The only surprising thing is that they don't test you for alcohol... in Vegas?! I would have never let my husband drink before getting in a car, but he's with others on those tracks and what if another driver was drunk and endangered him? I don't know, I would feel better if they tested everyone for alcohol before putting them behind the wheel of a supercar. We'll definitely be back!
I visited Exotics Racing last October, and drove the Porsche GT3. I expected the instructor would slow things down ; but that was not the case. They really push you to go fast, just like they said they would. I visited Exotics Racing again earlier this week, and drove the Porsche Cayman GTS. Again a super experience and lots of fun. Yes, when they are busy, you may have to wait a while before it's your turn to drive "your" car. But to me that was part of the fun too. Lots of super carts to watch while waiting. I will definitely be back.
So I wanted to do something different for my Vegas trip and give myself a little reward. Decided on doing this, even though I'm not that much into cars and wouldn't be able to recognize the different types of ferraris or Lamborghinis if my life depended on it. Yet I ended up enjoying this experience and wishing for me. The cars are indeed a different breed to what we all typically drive, and I think if you are able to afford it, it's worth try. Each car has a different instructor so realize that you'll have to get used to each style. Some instructors are more hands on (one of them actually pulled my steering for me some of the time because he felt I was being too cautious - and I didn't mind!), and others are more quiet. But they ALL encourage you to go wild and drive on the crazy side. The tracks are really safe and I can't see any major accident happening - you'll just go off the asphalt onto solid ground. Choose your cars wisely, as you don't want to regret not choosing the right one!
