Witness how an immigrant millennial breaks the mold of how an immigrant should act. This is an act about a woman who discovers her sexuality and in an hour-long solo performance, covering every single topic, ranging from her heritage to God to the relationship she shares with her mother.

Why Watch So Many Reasons

Growing up in an immigrant household can be tough; on one hand, you are expected to abide by the values that are imparted to us as kids and on the other, you want to set yourself free from the shackles of expectations. For those of you unfamiliar with such struggles, come and watch this performance of how one girl, Melissa, faces a dearth of problems, which include familial shame, a crush on a choir boy, and a Brazilian wax that goes awry. She discovers that she holds the key to her life and that she can question everything she has been taught.

Starring the brilliant Rachel Ofori as Melissa, a Ghanian British millennial, So Many Reasons is a refreshing show that aims to show the side of a community that is rarely told in stories. Featuring some ingenious design by Tanya Stephenson, including pieces such as a visual puzzle that reveals the internal turbulence brewing inside Melissa. It is a show that will leave you in splits in its hilarious attempt to showcase what observational comedy is all about, and at the same time open your eyes to the lives of young immigrants.
