The current adaptation is set in the aftermath of World War 2 in Berlin and depicts the ever-present battle between good and evil. Director Olivier Py has staged numerous operas across the world and is most famous for his productions of La Damnation de Faust, Tristan und Isolde, and Tannhauser. An ensemble cast, consisting of opera stars such as David Butt Philip, Jennifer Davis, and Elena Gabouri take the lead roles, making for a memorable evening.
