Richard Alston Dance Company — Final Edition Tickets

This exceptional production consists of three pieces: Voices and Light Footsteps, Shine On, and Mazur. The first one is backed by Italian baroque composer Claudio Monteverdi’s immortal musical composition. The intricate madrigals and instrumental sinfonias make a fitting accompaniment to the sensuous choreography. The second piece Shine On is set to Benjamin Britten’s song cycle inspired by Auden’s famous poem collection - On This Island. Pianist Jason Ridgway will accompany the talented soprano Katherine McIndoe during this performance.

Since 1994, the Richard Alston Dance Company has maintained a spotless reputation for top-notch choreography and music. The founder, Richard Alston, is famous for creating the UK’s first independent dance group: Strider. Between 1980 and 1992, he worked for Ballet Rambert, first as the resident choreographer, and later as the company’s artistic director. With an incredible lineup of dancers including Elly Braund and Joshua Harriette, this company has won several awards for performances across the world.
