Rome is a city which is filled with historical facts. A three-hour walk on the Rome's Jewish Ghetto and Trastevere will fill you with answers relating to the traditional cultures of two iconic neighbourhoods of the city.
If you are inquisitive to learn about the Jewish community in Rome which is one of the oldest in Europe, you are in the right place. You will be led by an art historian or religions historian.
Through their explanation of the past, the sites which you will witness will come alive for sure. The most able docents will choose the most interesting places around the Ghetto so that you get the maximum information of the historic period of Rome.
You will be taken through the Tiber Island, which may be where the first activity of Rome as a city took place. This shall be an opportunity for you to relive the days of ancient Roman history.

- You will meet your docent outside the bar "Il Gelato" located at #14 Largo Arenula, just off of Largo di Torre Argentina (the sunken archaeological site at the intersection of Corso Vittorio and Via Arenula). "Il Gelato", along with other shops, flanks the left side of Largo Arenula (if you are looking at it with your back to the archaeological site of Largo di Torre Argentina) and is located in the proximity of the green news kiosk.
- You will be visiting the Synagogue: no shorts of any kind, for both kids and adults. For women, knees, shoulders, and upper arms must be covered. For men, no shorts or cut-off trousers/pants are allowed, and again, shoulders and upper arms must be covered. Best not to bring anything like large bags or purses, backpacks, umbrellas (especially those with hooks), and any sharp objects.
- Though you are prepaid for the walk, you are responsible for paying any entrance tickets necessary. Entrance to the Museum of the Synagogue costs 11€, and viewing the Cavallini frescoes is 2.50€.
