It was very convenient to arrive in Venice and download tickets from the ticket machine using the QR code. The Vaporetto service works very well.

It is the easiest and most economical transport for getting around Venice. And an excellent way of seeing the city's magnificent buildings and the activity on the Grand Canal.

For at least 15 years, I have been going to Venice at the close of the Biennale and on the occasion of the anniversary of Our Lady of Health. At this time (third week of November), tourism is not very chaotic and I can take the vaporetti and visit museums and palaces at a leisurely pace. This year we stayed at Palazzo Querini Stampaglia, a beautiful 18th-century aristocratic mansion, and admired the delightful garden, created in more recent times, by Carlo Scarpa. Then we visited Palazzo Fortuny, completely rearranged in its furnishings and picture gallery, Ca' Pesaro, with its extraordinary permanent collection of modern and contemporary art and an exhibition on 19th-century Venetian portraiture, Palazzo Grassi and the Punta della Dogana, with very interesting exhibitions, and finally the Guggenheim collection, a must-see, this year with an exhibition on Marcel Duchamp. The weather was beautiful. The only somewhat jarring note (but that's common knowledge) everything is very expensive, from the vaporettos, to the restaurants, to the museums.

Very practical pass for unlimited travel around Venice. However, the explanation of how to print the pass at the machine is not very clear. I thought you could use it directly on your smartphone with the QR Code.

Due to Aqua alta, everything has unfortunately shifted, as some rods could not be used. We lost about 1 1/2 hours as a result. But that's not the operator's fault...

Important Information

Please print your tickets before arriving. Tickets must be validated before boarding ACTV public transport.
The validity of ACTV Tickets and Travelcards starts from the exact moment they are first validated.
Included in the price of ticket is the transport of 1 luggage piece, the three dimensions of which must not exceed the sum of 150cm.
Please expect delays during peak hours and high seasons.

How to Use Your Tickets

You will receive an ACTV Public Transport Services Voucher via email. Exchange this at the Venezia Unica ticket office at Piazzale Roma and redeem a paper ticket with your voucher. You can also use the Venezia Unica self-service ticket machine present at the ticket office.
