Crowned by Byzantine monasteries, the stunning rock formations of Meteora are a sight to behold. On this small-group sunset tour, you will enjoy an afternoon visit to the hidden gems of this tourist attraction. An enthusiastic guide will lead you through the winding narrow roads to offbeat tracks that only locals know of. First up on the list is the monastery Agios Stefanos, which has been converted into a nunnery since WWII. Gasp at the views of the vast valley of Thessaly, the river Pinios and the Pindos mountain range across the plain.

Next, head over to the oldest-standing monument, the Byzantine church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary, in Kalambaka. Built on top of the ruins of a Christian church, the monument has managed to preserve Greek history for the past 25 centuries. Within its walls, you'll find architectural features that depict the transition from the ancient religion to the Christian period and all the different evolutionary stages of Eastern Christianity in the past 2000 years.
