Valentina was forced to return to Russia to raise her daughter, Sophia. More than 2 decades later, Sophia goes on to marry a bureaucrat and leads a luxurious lifestyle. Sophia, however, is quite unhappy with her marriage. Valentina, on the other hand, urges Sophia to accept her duties and stay with her husband.
