Your Experience

From June to September, the tranquil Caribbean sea surrounding the islands north of Cancun become an ideal draw for whale sharks. This is due to the warm waters and surplus amounts of plankton and small nekton found in the area. Travelers cross oceans to come here for a meaningful encounter. But, on this whale shark tour, you’ll be getting much more than a significant glimpse of this marvelous creature. You’ll get to go swimming with them!

A group of adventure experts will escort you to the spot where these whales rendezvous. Get briefed and suited up with your snorkeling gear before you take the plunge. Some describe sharing the water with creatures as magnificent as whale sharks as a spiritual experience. There is no scope for fear for the wonder alone will keep you suspended. Plus under the aid and guidance of professionals, you can be sure of safety. These creatures, despite their intimidating size are docile and gentle. Quite peaceful and often friendly with humans, these creatures are not particularly interested in snacking on anything larger than microscopic marine life. The guides will be at your disposal to answer any questions you may have. After the activity, a succulent lunch will be provided at the exclusive beach club.

Itinerary

8:00 AM – Check-in and welcome briefing at the Marina

8:30 AM – Boarding and departure for whale shark encounter. Swim with whale sharks (up to two snorkeling opportunities)

12:45 PM – Lunch at the beach restaurant (Isla Mujeres)

2:00 PM – Depart from Isla Mujeres

2:30 PM - Arrive at Marina and transfer back to your hotel

Restrictions

Minimum age: 8 years
Maximum weight: 113 kg / 250 lbs
Not recommended for people with respiratory problems, back or neck injuries or heart problems
Participants need to be fit and should know how to swim
For your safety and that of the baby, access to pregnant women is not allowed

Important Information

Jumps into the water are organized in pairs by turns. Each jump lasts a few minutes. This is at the discretion of the captain depending on the path of the shark, sea conditions, etc
We recommend not using sunscreen as it contains chemicals that affect the reef. Otherwise, use only biodegradable products and apply them at least 20 minutes before carrying out the activity
Each boat can carry 10 passengers
You must wear a life jacket or a wetsuit at all times
