If you have an eye for art, don’t miss out a trip to Turin’s Albertina Gallery, home to the Pinacoteca. Originally founded to serve as a training center for the academy’s students, it held collections donated by the Archbishop of Casale Monferrato, Mossi di Morano, Charles Albert, and more, in the 17th and 18th centuries. Walk past the Mossi di Morano collection that boasts Flemish and Dutch works, Venetian paintings, and Piemontese works. Some noticeable works include Filippo Lippi’s Saint Ambrose and Saint Gregory and Doctors of the Church, Maarten van Heemskerck’s The Lamentation of Christ, and Deposition in the Sepulchre, Cornelis de Wael’s After the Battle, and Giuseppe Pietro Bagetti's Mountainous Landscape with Coastal Inlets. The Pinacoteca has been open to the public since 1996 and continues to be the place to go for most admirers of Italian artists.
