Overview

On this tour from Paris, you will be led by an expert guide on a full day excursion of the D-Day Beaches in Normandy. Here, you will get a chance to visit one of the most historic sites of our recent times and walk the steps walked by many Allied soldiers on the fateful day of June 6, 1944.

The largest military operation of its kind, the site saw more than 150,000 soldiers from the America, Britain and Canada land by sea and air along the Normandy coastline (Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Juno Beach, etc.).

Your Day

• Travel by air-conditioned coach from the center of Paris at 7:00 AM

• Relax and take in the scenic Normandy countryside before you arrive at the Caen Memorial Museum by 10:15 AM

• The museum hosts quite a remarkable collection of memorabilia from the Second World War and tells the story of various stages of the war

• You will have the chance to see everyday objects from life under occupation, maps, and models of military vehicles, as well as film screenings that recreate the emotions of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy

• Lunch is included at the restaurant in the Caen Memorial Museum

• In the afternoon, the tour will continue to several of the iconic landmarks that played a part in the landings

• Your first stop will be Pointe du Hoc, overlooking the hundred-foot-high cliffs between Utah and Omaha beaches

• Equipped with extensive artillery from the German side, Pointe du Hoc was one of the key German fortified sites along the Normandy coast

• You will also be visiting a memorial, a chapel, and the Garden of the Missing at the cemetery

• With an hour to explore, you can walk down a small trail that goes down to Omaha Beach. You will be at the very same place thousands of soldiers landed and gave up their lives for humanity

• Following this, you will stop at Arromanches, home to an artificial port which was built to assist the Normandy landings

• On D-Day, the harbour saw the unloading of almost 10,000 tons of equipment

• You can also take a short photo-stop near the sandy Juno Beach and its cemetery

• Finally, you will return to Paris at approximately 9 PM
