Set off from Wellington following a hassle-free hotel pick-up and enjoy a picturesque drive to first lookout point at Pukerua Bay. Then, drive up to Paekākāriki Hill to witness a sublime view of the Kāpiti coast, Kāpiti island, and top of the South Island. If the sky is clear, you can also spot Mt Ruapehu and Mt Taranaki/Egmont.

Discover the Historical Heritage of Kāpiti Coast

Pay a visit to Camp McKay at Queen Elizabeth Park Paekākāriki to see the US Marine Corps Memorial. The place served as a home for the US Marine Corp during the days of World War 2.

Next up is the Southwards Car Museum. If cars fascinate you, then you will love visiting the museum as it houses over 400 vehicles, along with 3 aircrafts.

Meet Local Wildlife at Ngā Manu Nature Reserve

Stop for lunch in Long Beach in Waikanae before heading up to the laidback Ngā Manu Nature Reserve. See Tuataras up close and take a stroll through the open native bird aviaries. If you are lucky, you may even see a Kiwi or two! Depending upon the time of your visit, you can either participate in eel feeding or take a bird feedout tour with a local Ngā Manu Ranger.

The last leg of the tour takes you on a scenic drive through some beautiful coastal suburbs. Stop by one of the local craft breweries for a tasting or refresh yourself with coffee at one of the cafes before returning to Wellington.
