Head out to Piazza Duomo for a cherished experience in Tuscany’s San Gimignano and visit the Civic Museums. The Civic Museums are divided into two sites, the first of which is the Palazzo Pubblico, which holds the famous Torre Grossa (or Big Tower). The palazzo holds two important rooms with stunning frescoes, like the majestic “Virgin and Child”.
Next, visit the Pinacoteca, the Picture Gallery, that holds the city’s biggest collection of painted panels by Florentine and Sienese artists, like Filippino Lippi, Bennozo Gozzoli, Benedetto da Maiano and Pinturicchio. Head back downstairs to begin your climb towards the top of the city’s tallest tower, standing at 54 meters high. Climb the 218 carefully to the top, where sweeping views of the city are sure to make you sway.
