The lady at the Kuranda ticket office was brilliant - she patiently sorted out a failed booking via a third party and got us on the train.

De 2 uur durende treinreis van Cairns naar Kuranda en terug was spectaculair. Het tropische landschap was geweldig. Net als de ervaring van het reizen in de trein op een spoor dat in de berg is uitgehouwen. Het uitzicht op de vlakten en de watervallen was geweldig.

The train ride up and back was a fantastic experience. How ever there was not much going on with the shops in Kuranda, which I am presuming it was because the Skyrail was closed. But the ticketing was easy and the staff at the Train Station were fantastic and very helpful and smiled alot. Had a lovely day

The train halts at a stunning viewing platform at Barron Falls, so make sure you have your cameras ready. The refurbished red-wooden classic Heritage Carriage lends you authentic feels from the past. Travel comfortably and listen to the smooth audio commentary to learn about the many intriguing locations you zoom past.

Important Information

The cable car runs on sunny and rainy days, and there are umbrellas for free use by tourists.
There are toilets at both stations.
As the rainforest park is a special place protected by World Heritage, be sure to walk on the passage during the visit.
Do not touch or remove any plants.
Outside food is not allowed in the tropical rainforest park. Lunch is provided in the restaurant in the park, including sandwiches and a lunch buffet.
Tropical rainforest tours and train cars are all non-smoking.
Ages 3yrs and below go free. Children aged 4-14yrs enjoy reduced ticket pricing.
