The medieval castle of Oxford stands tall and proud on the western side of central Oxford in Oxfordshire, England. Although partly ruined, this castle plays a significant role in the conflict of the Anarchy! Your skip-the-line access lets you head right into the castle, along with your expert tour guide, who will be decked in costume, head-to-toe for dramatic effect! As he/she regales stories of Empress Matilda and reminds you of the fate of Mary Blandy, you’ll feel over 1,000 years’ worth of history come to life!
Step inside the padded jail cell, climb St. George’s Tower and enter the crypt of St. Georges’ Chapel. You will also get to touch the stones where Oxford University was rumored to begin! As you wander about the harsh confines of the prison’s D-Wing, find out a thing or two about the youngest inmates that resided here.
