As with many of his shows, Derren Brown has revealed very little of what he has in store for audiences at The Lowry - Lyric Theatre this summer. He has, however, mentioned that the show will be mostly centered around the audience, not the magician. As the first fresh theater performance in over six years, Brown is sure to have conjured up a whole new bag of mind-bending tricks.
A British performer with a unique approach to magic, Derren Brown is famous for his television debut ‘Derren Brown: Mind Control’ that aired in 2000. He has produced several more successful shows and stage performances ever since, including ‘Something Wicket This Way Comes’. His 2012 show Svengali won him two prestigious Laurence Olivier Awards. Brown’s magnetic personality and imaginative ways of involving his audience in the act have made him one of the country’s most loved performers. It is also fascinating to note that he does not claim to have any supernatural powers or mind-reading abilities, unlike several others in the same profession. Instead, he prefers to perform acts that are designed to expose the flimsy claims of faith healers and mind readers.
