Adapted from the autobiographical book by Jordan Belfort and the critically acclaimed Martin Scorcese film of the same name, The Wolf of Wall Street covers the rise and fall of Stratton Oakmont, a brokerage firm on Wall Street. Alexander Wright is in charge of adapting the production for the stage. His previous immersive production, The Great Gatsby won accolades for the unique experience that it offered its audience.
Wright brings his successful immersive experience to London, with his new production. Members of the audience will occasionally become a part of the cast, and can participate as much as they wish to. The audience become architects of their own entertainment.
The interactive experience runs over 4 storeys featuring fancy restaurants and bars, muscle cars, trader schemes and numerous other elements of 1990s New York City. The audience has a choice to trade with Belfort himself or to work with the FBI to take him down. The production has been created such that viewers who attend multiple times always have a different experience.
Jordan Belfort is a successful stockbroker in the 1990s. He is quickly seduced by the provocative culture of stockbroking, which is filled with casual sex and drugs. He slowly finds himself being drawn into the culture. Belfort learns that he must in stockbroking only for himself, and soon finds himself out of a job. Belfort then seeks a job as a penny stock salesman in a boiler room firm, where he learns that he can earn a much higher commission as compared to his previous job.
Belfort’s aggressive pitching style allows him to earn a small fortune off of high commissions, which he uses to open his own company. He uses a pump and dump scheme to make millions for the company, while duping thousands across the world. Soon, the FBI is hot on his trail. Will Belfort be able to sustain his fraudulent schemes? Is he setting himself up for an emphatic fall from grace?
