You will be transported to an asylum in 1863, at the peak of the Victorian era. Peer into a locked windowless cell, where you will meet a nameless woman who has no memory of how she got in there. Mrs. Lyall, a medium who attempts to communicate with spirits, is in need of a new assistant. The woman with no name seems to be the perfect fit. As time goes on, however, the woman starts to remember her past and also discovers new powers. Is either of them ready for what’s to come?
Alistair's McDowell has been called one of the most exciting playwrights to come out of England in the past few years. He won the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting in 2011 for Brilliant Adventures, which kickstarted his playwriting career. Intended to catch people off guard, he aims to play with people’s expectations by presenting something familiar and then unraveling it. The play is directed by Vicky Featherstone, the artistic director of the Royal Court Theatre, and Fisayo Akinade, Tadhq Murphy, Ria Zmitrowicz, and Rakie Ayola.
